COVID-19 Update for 29 April 2022

As of 9am this morning a total of 5031 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the Cook Islands. Of this number 4733 have recovered and 297 remain active.

Yesterday 21 cases were reported on Rarotonga and 17 on Aitutaki. There is one active case on Mitiaro and Atiu has 6 cases.

With the declining cases on Rarotonga, it has been decided that this weekend the Community Clinics will be open from 8am to noon on Saturday and Sunday and from next weekend the Community Clinics will close in the weekend and will return to operating Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.

Tupapa Primary Care clinic will remain open 7 days a week.

The border to Mangaia, Mitiaro, Mauke and Pukapuka reopens from 1 May, pre-departure RAT testing remains a requirement.

Mask wearing on public transport and in close proximity situations remains a requirement on Rarotonga, whilst in the Pa Enua mask wearing is for public indoor settings.
